The Journey of MasterMinds Leadership

MasterMinds Leadership began with a vision forged halfway across the world.

In 2012, our founders, Phillip and Laura Shero, were living in Uganda to launch LivingStone International University—a bold venture to develop a new generation of transformational leaders across East Africa. The work was deeply personal, built on years of sacrifice, and fueled by a clear sense of purpose: invest in people, align them around a meaningful vision, and equip them to lead with integrity and skill.


When the Sheros returned to Texas in 2013, they carried with them a calling to help transform lives and organizations through leadership. In 2014, that calling became MasterMinds Leadership.


Over time, we have built a deeply human—and rigorously practical—approach to leadership development.


From the beginning, our clients have represented diverse industries, including manufacturing, construction, banking, and accounting.


We’ve consistently seen that front-line and mid-level leaders often receive the least support, yet hold the most influence on day-to-day culture and performance.

The Sphere of Influence Leadership Academy was designed to equip these vital leaders with the mindset, tools, and confidence to thrive.

As the demand for our approach grew, we were asked to license our content, prompting major investments in digital development, course production, and learning platform expansion. Sphere of Influence has since grown to include 36 courses, professional video content, and a robust hybrid delivery model. Partner firms now deliver the program in industries ranging from aerospace and healthcare to the U.S. military.

Both PhDs, our co-founders bring deep expertise in adult learning science, emotional intelligence, and data-driven development. We continue to expand our assessment capabilities, impact, and training through custom engagements and scalable programs.
